Rain (Poem)

The rain comes and sweeps away

What my consciousness has left of me

Stands for sorrow, stands for shame

But I feel cleansed, feel free, feel saved

Fierce drops splash on my clothes my skin

Draw patterns in the path ahead

They speak of wisdom, forbidden sin

I smile knowingly, just what I planned

The storm’s rage blasts louder than speech

Doubt seems to be far out of reach

Therefore we leave an open door

A single pierce the sun attempts

To be a saviour she pretends

I would wish for rain a little more
